Case Study: Membership Department Training Manual Redesign
Greenway Home Services | Updating Internal Training Documentation to Improve Workflow
Overview
While working at Greenway Home Services in Memphis, Tennessee, I rewrote and updated the in-house training manual/binder for the Membership department. The goal was to improve the usability of the training resource, clarify internal processes, and support a more streamlined workflow for employees responsible for membership-related tasks.
By revising the content and structure of the manual, I helped turn an existing internal resource into a more practical tool for training, reference, and day-to-day performance support.
The Challenge
The Membership department needed clearer, more up-to-date documentation to support employee training and workflow consistency. When training materials are outdated, unclear, or not aligned with current processes, employees often have to rely on verbal clarification, inconsistent habits, or workarounds to complete tasks.
This can slow down workflows, create confusion, and make onboarding or cross-training less efficient. There was a need to improve the training manual so it better reflected current procedures and provided employees with a more useful, streamlined guide for completing their work.
My Approach
To address this, I rewrote and reorganized the department’s in-house training manual/binder with a focus on clarity, structure, and practical application. I reviewed existing content, updated process information, and improved how the material was presented so employees could follow it more easily and use it more effectively in their daily work.
My focus was not just on updating the document itself, but on making it a stronger operational resource that supported better workflow execution.
